About: Bara M'boup - is A Griot and master drummer
hailing from Senegal, West Africa. Bara has attended a
school for gifted musicians in Senegal called Center
bougaraboo's and djun djun's and South American Rhythms on the Conga, Bongo &
history as it comes to life through rhythm, dance and song. Some instruments
provided. No experience necessary, all levels & abilities welcomed, join the class at
anytime, you don't have to wait until the first of each month.
About: Join the fun of Djembe, Duns and more in this fun and uplifting class.
Learn the language & techniques needed to play West African Rhythms, become
familiar with reading music and transcribing African Rhythms to Western Notation
and learning the history and traditions of the rhythms you are learning to play.
This is a great class for those new drumming and those who would like to brush
up on their skills.

Cultural Blaise Senghor, performed from Morocco to New York to Los Angeles to
Japan, performed with the Ballet Bougarabou, and has shared the stage with Tina
Turner, The Rolling Stones and recorded with Peter Gabriel and Melissa
Manchester.

About: Dramane Kone, drummer, balafon (West African
xylophone) player, singer, and instrument maker from
Mali, West Africa. Dramane is a Griot (oral historian) from
the famous Kone family of Burkina Faso and Mali, West Africa and he would like to
share his culture with us. This is a wonderful opportunity to study with a Master,
who not only is a great teacher, but brings his infectious laughter & spirit to each
and every class. He has the wonderful ability to teach in one class rhythms
suitable to the ultra beginner as well as challenging those who have been playing
for awhile. Be a part of history as it comes to life with
Dramane's stories of his youth and his culture.

About: Souhail Kaspar, a true virtuoso, is known
worldwide for his brilliant technique, exciting performances and veffective teaching
skills. His ability to improvise andembellish rhythmic patterns of Arabic music and
knowledge of ethnic musical history make him one of the most highly acclaimed
performers and instructors of our day. Souhail has performed with “Sting”,
“Santana”, and Shakira as well as many other performing groups. Bring your own
doumbek. Don't have one? nNo problem rent one of ours, first come first served,
